New Take On Digital Covers

Now, guess what?

This could be the start of a completely new type of eBook cover.

Walker Books, a UK publisher, just released this interactive animated cover for Daylight Savings by Edward Hogan. It is described by the publisher as "a thriller ghost story". Hogan, a fresh voice in YA fiction, takes Daylight savings time and twists it into a story that will apparently have us all "utterly gripped".

The premise:
"For most of us, [daylight savings] is a fantastic day as it means we get an extra hour to stay wrapped under the duvet, safe in our beds. But for one of the main characters in Edward Hogan's debut young adult novel,Daylight Saving, this time of year brings nothing but fear..."

Sound interesting? Definitely. Damn cool cover? CHECK.

I find this idea of an interactive cover really awesome. I've seen some other animated eBook covers, but never an interactive one (at least that I know of). Do you guys think this is the start of something new? Will it spread to other publishers? Excited? On the fence? Leave a comment down below about what you think!
